Spanish Atletico Madrid secured an important 0-2 win over SSDFT Team White that keeps them with chances of qualifying to the next round of the Al Abtal Cup.
The first few minutes saw the Madrilene squad in slight control, which was converted into the first goal at the 23rd minute, after Nino broke down the right side and made a killer pass to Emilio, who finalized it. The Spanish team continued to dominate the game, but there were no more goals before half-time.
The second half began as the previous one ended, with Atlético de Madrid in control. Ten minutes after the restart, Maroto drove from the left flank and sent in a beautiful cross which Marcio tapped in for the second goal. The dominance of the Spanish team continued, with some attacks from the Saudi’s, but none successful: the match ended 0-2.
With this victory, Atletico Madrid have four points after three matches, reviving their hopes of qualifying for the next round of the Western European group, while the Team White are at the bottom of the group standings with no points and are mathematically eliminated.
