Villarreal was able to get the better of the Future Falcons by two goals to one in Group C of Al Abtal Cup.

Both teams then kicked on looking for the second, with the Saudi team’s pressure continuing even after they had scored the equalizer combined with dangerous Villarreal counterattacks up the other end. In the 80th minute, the Spanish team got a direct free kick, which Sergio skillfully floated into the goal, scoring his second of the match against the Future Falcons. The Saudi team tried to get themselves back in the game again, but their attempts came to no avail, and the match ended with two goals to one in favor of Villarreal.
