The SSDFT Program concludes its third season after participating in the Al Abtal International Cup with its two squads and exporting 17 players to several European clubs.
The Saudi Scholarship for Developing Football Talent Program of the Ministry of Sports completed the 21-22 season in the Spanish city of Salou, which witnessed a continuous physical, mental, and educational work with the Saudi players, daily trainings and friendly matches against numerous teams, in addition to the participation of two squads in the Al Abtal Cup, a competition that features the most prestigious European teams, with the aim of developing players in all aspects.
On the other hand, the program was able to get 17 players to sign professional contracts with European clubs in several countries, a great opportunity to develop their talent and provide a well-prepared generation for future national team appearances.
Hisham Tashkandi, Director of the Program thanked the Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, for his support and guidance. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to all Saudi clubs for their collaboration in incorporating their young talents into the scholarship program in Spain.
Tashkandi stated that “the technical and administrative staff did an outstanding job throughout the year, which saw a great development in the level of the players, in accordance with the mission and objectives of the program”.
