The Future Falcons lose to Standard Liège (4-0) at the programme headquarters in Salou in Group D of Al Abtal Cup.

The match started with the Belgian team earning a slight edge to proceedings, which resulted in the visitors winning a penalty in the 9th minute which was successfully converted by defender Sam who put his team into the lead with the first goal of the match. The Future Falcons tried to establish themselves in the match in an attempt to equalise, with particular threats stemming from the left hand side

However, Standard Liège struck again in the 23rd minute to score their second goal, a header from forward Leon. The match continued in the same manner, with few chances falling to either side, and the first half ended with a 2-0 scoreline.

At the start of the second half, Standard Liège added a third goal through Ryan, who broke through the Saudi defence. The match continued with a tough midfield battle, with quick counter attacks launched by the Belgian side, who added the fourth goal in the 75th minute from a direct free-kick by Ryan, with the match ending with a 4-0 victory to the away team.
