The Future Falcons lost their Al Abtal Group B match against Slavia Prague by a goal to nil.
The game started with the Future Falcons attempting to push forward into Slavia Prague’s half of the pitch. However, not long into the match it was the Czech team that took control of possession and created the majority of the chances to score. Counter-attacks posed a constant threat to the Future Falcons, who struggled to convert the possession they did have into chances. Neither team managed to score before the break, and the first half ended goalless.
The second half started as a more one-sided affair, with Slavia exerting heavy pressure and going close to opening the scoring with several chances in close succession in the early minutes of the second half. In the 61st minute, the Czech team managed to break the deadlock with a goal from Bálan, who capitalised on a low Dovič cross from the right side, poking home into the empty net after the goalkeeper was taken out of the game by the drilled cross.
The Saudi team tried to get back into the game, but as the clock ticked down, the task became ever more challenging, especially with the rock solid Czech defence. The match ended in a one-nil victory to Slavia Prague. The result means the Czech team moved up to 6 points in the group, securing the second position in Group B, while the Future Falcons remain in last place on 2 points.
