Future Falcons suffer a 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid

Future Falcons went down 4-1 against hosts Real Madrid in Group 1 of Al Abtal Cup.

Real Madrid started strongly, scoring an early goal in the first minute through Mesa, who fired a powerful right-footed strike from inside the box, wrong-footing goalkeeper Khalid Aldossry. The Future Falcons tried to recover from the early setback and equalise in the following minutes, only for the Spanish side to strike again. Guillermo broke down the right flank and delivered a low cross between defence and goalkeeper, which Marwan Al Yami inadvertently turned into his own net, doubling Real Madrid’s lead.

Los Blancos continued their dominance, adding a third in the 30th minute with a powerful Pablo header from a pinpoint Matías cross. However, The Future Falcons quickly responded, pulling one back through Ali Qazwani, who met Turki Alsaeed’s cross with a clinical header in the 34th minute.

Madrid nearly made it 4-1 when Matías found himself one-on-one with the keeper, only for his effort to cannon off the crossbar. But in the 35th minute, Carlos sealed the Spanish side’s first half dominance and put the match to bed with a composed finish after rounding the goalkeeper.

The second half saw an intense battle, with The Future Falcons pushing to reduce the deficit and get themselves back into the match, while Real Madrid aimed to consolidate their lead. Despite both teams’ efforts, no further goals were scored, and the match ended 4-1.
