Future Falcons played out a 0-0 draw away to Hajduk Split in Group A of Al Abtal Cup.
The Saudi side started the match on the front foot, with Ali Qazwani coming close to opening the scoring with a shot that went just wide of the post after a rebound from goalkeeper Burgher. Gradually, the Croatian team gained a foothold of their own in the match and launched several attacks, even having a goal disallowed in the 29th minute for offside. Hajduk Split had another chance when Sokosic sprinted down the right wing and crossed to Russo, who missed the target with his shot. With that goalmouth action coming to nothing, the first half ended in a goalless draw.
In the second half, Ali Qazwani again fired a powerful shot from distance that went narrowly wide of the goal. The match then started to open up, with both teams creating chances at each end, but it was the Future Falcons who dominated. Qazwani had yet another clear opportunity after a breakaway, but Burgher made a crucial save to deny the Saudi forward. Despite their superior play in the second half, the Future Falcons were unable to break the deadlock, and the match ended 0-0.
With this draw, the Saudi team moved up to five points at the top of Group A, following a draw against Bayer Leverkusen and a victory over Juventus.
