Future Falcons drew 0-0 with their guests, Sporting Portugal, at the Saudi base in Salou as part of Al Abtal Cup Group B.
The first half saw the Saudi team get the better of proceedings and come close to scoring on several occasions as a result of dangerous play down the flanks. For their part, Sporting Portugal also launched some quick counter-attacks, also from wide areas. However, their play did not generate anything to trouble goalkeeper Khalid Aldossri’s goal. Neither team managed to trouble the scorers in the first 45 minutes and the first half ended goalless.
The second half began in a similar vein, with Future Falcons attacks, such as a run from Alkhaldi down the left, but his shot went narrowly wide. The midfield battle intensified in the final twenty minutes of the match, with neither team able to gain the upperhand in the game to generate further threats on goal. As such, a 0-0 draw was the final score.
