Future Falcons beat Real Madrid by two goals to one

The Future Falcons secured a significant victory against Real Madrid by two goals to one in the group stage of the Al Abtal Cup.


The game got off to an even start, with Real Madrid slightly getting the better of play as they tried to break through the Saudi team’s stubborn defence, with Falah Alshammri and his defence ever-alert to the Merengue’s attacks. Real Madrid came close to opening the scoring in the 37th minute when Aymar’s shot was pushed round the post for a corner by Falah Alshammri. Towards the end of the first half, the Whites were awarded a penalty which Aymar successfully converted, bringing the first half to an end with the Spanish team with their noses in front.


The second half was a different story though. The Future Falcons went out in search of a goal, and they were rewarded when they got off the mark in the 53rd minute through Ziyad Alghamdi. The Falcons player was able to equalise, beating the goalkeeper by lifting the ball over him and into the net. Real Madrid were then awarded a second penalty, but this time Aymar was unable to convert it. Following this let off for the Falcons, the game remained level until the 81st minute, when Anas Alahmadi broke free of the goalkeeper and fired the ball into the back of the net to seal a famous victory for the Future Falcons.


With this victory, the Future Falcons increased their points tally to 5, moving them up into third place in Group A, while Real Madrid’s stay on three points in fourth place in the group.
