Future Falcons Draw 2-2 with CD Leganés

The Future Falcons played out a 2-2 draw with Spanish side Leganés at the headquarters in Salou, Spain, in Group B of Al Abtal Cup group stage.

The match got off to an even start, though it was the Spanish team who landed the first blow. Serrano capitalised on a defensive error to put Leganés ahead. However, the Saudi side responded swiftly—just two minutes later, the Falcons were awarded a penalty, which Tamim Al-Khaldi calmly converted to bring the scores level.

Both teams continued to battle for control of the game, creating several chances. Despite their efforts, neither side managed to find the net again before the break, and the first half ended 1-1.

The second half began with great energy from both sides. Leganés regained the lead in the 59th minute following a series of attempts on goal. The ball eventually found substitute Ayman, who struck a powerful shot into the back of the net.

But true to form, the Future Falcons refused to give in. Just three minutes later, Ali Qazwani received the ball inside the penalty area, turned skilfully between defenders, and fired past goalkeeper Tamayo to make it 2-2.

The Falcons pressed for a winning goal that would secure all three points and boost their chances of progressing from Group B. However, they were unable to find a breakthrough and had to settle for a point, which keeps them level on points with second-placed Barcelona, and just behind group leaders Slavia Prague.
