Future Falcons suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Athens side Panathinaikos, as part of Group A in Al Abtal Cup.

The match began with the Greek team applying intense pressure, though Future Falcons gradually found their way into the game and pushed forward on the ball. In the 38th minute, Panathinaikos took the lead through midfielder Karou, who lobbed a long-range shot that caught the Saudi goalkeeper off guard and found the back of the net. The first half ended with the home side 1-0 up.

The Saudi team started the second half strongly in an attempt to equalise, with Ali Almaki firing a shot from outside the box that narrowly missed the goal. However, in the 71st minute, Turki Alsaeed received a second yellow card and was sent off, making Future Falcons’ task even harder.

Just four minutes later, Daniilidis added a second goal for Panathinaikos after a one-on-one with goalkeeper Khalid Aldossry. Despite several attempts to reduce the deficit, especially with the team down to ten men, Future Falcons could not find a breakthrough, and the match ended with a 2-0 victory to Panathinaikos.
