SSDFT Team White lost to the Belgian club Genk with a goal without a response, in Group B of the Al Abtal Cup.
The match started evenly between the two sides, and Nolan almost opened the score for the Belgian team in the 22nd minute with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, but goalkeeper Ammar Al-Durayhim managed to brilliantly turn the ball into a corner. The game was confined to the middle of the field, and there was a great struggle between the two teams, and the players’ attempts to break the negative tie did not succeed, so the first half ended without goals.
The second half began with more pressure from Genk, headed in the 54th minute, when Konstantinos managed to open the score for the Belgian team with a wonderful goal from a corner kick that he hit directly at the goal. The Blue-Whites continued their attack despite the progression in the score, and almost added the second goal on several occasions, but the defenses of the young Saudi stars were vigilant, and they tried on a few occasions to adjust the score, but that did not happen. So the match ended with a goal for Genk who consolidated their lead in the second group.
